‘KEES’, The Hammam Glove

55.00$

Handmade with love and precision. The fabric’s special weave is what makes it perfect at exuviating dead skin. This specific type was produced especially for consumers who are not accustomed to the Kees. It’s soft, yet rough enough to do the work. The strong seam is what differentiates Melliza’s Kees from all the other real ones in the market. Other mitts break very easily after a few uses. This one will never tear!

Description

Cleansing oneself is an innate behavior which manifests differently according to culture and tradition. While some claim that the Moroccan Hammam derives from the second century Roman Thermae, a more plausible origination dates back to the third millennium BCE, when the Indus Civilisation flourished.

The Great Bath is part of a large citadel found during the Mohenjo-daro excavations in 1920. It seems these bathhouses have always existed. Perhaps other diggins will find even earlier hammams. As for the Kees, it’s believed that it was made by the Moors who advanced in many technologies amongst them, textiles. They created this special fabric that is still used today mostly by Moroccans, Turks, and Koreans.
